Poll shows Albertans want oil and gas regulations

Last fall Albertans were asked by EKOS Research Associates what they thought of methane emissions from the oil and gas sector and whether the government should regulate them or not. 

Alberta is in the process of writing new methane regulations for the oil and gas industry and most survey respondents—71 per cent—think the province's rules for methane should be at least as strict as the rules in oil and gas producing US states.

Two-thirds of those polled think these regulations should be mandatory, with only 28 per cent supporting a voluntary approach.
